Paramount Skydance Will Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Report

Paramount Skydance plans to begin large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are expected, as the firm planning to reveal full details via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested that Paramount was looking to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response on the matter.
